More Than 30,000 Tests Confirm the High Quality of Your Drinking Water.

Providing reliable, high-quality drinking water is one of Santa Margarita Water District's highest priorities. The 2026 Water Quality Report is now available online, giving customers an in-depth look at the quality of the drinking water delivered throughout 2025.

Last year, SMWD delivered more than 9 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water while conducting more than 30,000 laboratory tests for regulated contaminants and water quality indicators. These comprehensive tests confirmed that SMWD's drinking water met or surpassed all federal and state drinking water standards.

The report explains where your water comes from, how it is treated, what is tested, and how SMWD continuously monitors water quality from the source to the tap. It also provides detailed information about the quality of the drinking water delivered to homes and businesses throughout SMWD's service area.
